From Custard Pie Fights to Colour Festivals

As part of their commitment to creating memorable moments for their guests, Away Resorts has curated a series of thrilling events that will take place throughout the summer season.

Sandy Balls Forest Festival

Kicking off the summer festivities was the Sandy Balls Forest Festival, which took place on 17th June. Guests tiptoed into the enchanted forest for a day full of wonder and family magic! The Storybook Stage featured live shows, storytelling and the brilliant Bhangra Tots. Those wanting some morning relaxation and an afternoon of activities for the family and pooch to get involved in, the Make-Believe Meadow had this covered. And the Happily Ever After Marquee was filled with woodworkers, musicians, magical roaming animals and lots more. If you weren’t lucky enough to make it this year, it will be back in 2024, bigger and better than ever.

Colour Festival

The Away Resorts Colour Festival is a celebration of all things vibrant and lively! Guests at various locations, including Mersea Island, Whitecliff Bay, St Ives Bay, Golden Sands, Barmouth Bay, and Sandy Balls can expect a day filled with their favourite music, immersive experiences, and, of course, an explosion of colour. The highlight of the festival will be the grand colour throw, where attendees can dance their way through a rainbow of colours.

Custard Pie Fight

Prepare for a face full of foam at the Custard Pie Fight, previously known as the Cream Pie event. Guests at Mersea Island, White Cliffe Bay, Glendevon, Sandy Balls, St Ives Bay, Apple Tree, Mill Rythe, and Newquay Bay are invited to join in the messiest, most entertaining event of the summer. Round up your friends and family for some pie-slinging, face-splatting madness. The event caters to families with young children, featuring mini foam fights and a host of themed activities. Tattershall Lakes Famaland

Starting from 21st July and running through 2nd September, Tattershall Lakes Famaland promises a summer of fun, adventure, and cherished memories. This event is specifically designed for families, offering a wide range of activities that will keep both kids and adults entertained. Each week will include a full programme of events that will incorporate mini versions of Colour Festival, Custard Pie Fight and Dino World plus headline shows, guest characters and so much more. The events will be held across three venues – The Amphitheatre, The Festival Green and The Musical Meadow (Big Top).
