Away Resorts, one of the UK's leading holiday providers, proudly announced its participation in this year's World Ocean Day, showcasing its unwavering support for the preservation of our coastlines and the promotion of sustainable communities.

As part of the global World Ocean Day initiative on 8th June 2023, Away Resorts organised a series of community clean-up events along coastlines, and beaches, inviting employees, holidaymakers, owners, and residents to participate.

This focused on beach and land clean-ups, removing marine debris and raising awareness about the harmful effects of pollution on our oceans and marine life. Through these collective efforts, Away Resorts aimed to foster a sense of responsibility and empower individuals to take proactive steps in their daily lives to protect our precious marine ecosystems.

With 25 parks located across the UK – including the likes of St Ives Bay and Bude in Cornwall, The Bay Filey in Yorkshire, Swanage Bay View in Dorset, and Golden Sands in Rhyl, North Wales – Away Resorts is dedicated to supporting environmental initiatives every year.

Carl Castledine, CEO of Away Resorts said "We were thrilled to be a part of World Ocean Day, an international event that united individuals, organisations, and communities in our shared responsibility to protect and conserve our oceans. Through our participation and various activities, we aimed to inspire people to take action and make a positive difference in preserving our coastlines and fostering sustainable communities."

For a fourth straight year, the World Ocean Day 2023 Conservation Action Focus, is to grow the movement to protect at least 30% of our lands, waters, and ocean by 2030 (“30x30”).

Away Resorts encourages all holidaymakers and holiday home owners to actively participate in community clean-ups (whether that be beaches or forests) and promote responsible waste management during their visits. By embracing the opportunity to safeguard the environment, individuals can help ensure that future generations can continue to enjoy the natural wonders of the UK.
