Over the course of the last week, when European temperatures have peaked and many airlines announced the cancellation of flights, Away Resorts saw a surge in staycation bookings – up 51% YOY, with 80% of enquiries relating to August school holiday breaks.

Away Resorts data also showed a 28% increase in web session demand compared to the same period last year (from Friday 14th to yesterday). This surge indicates how many holidaymakers are choosing to book a break of the British Isles rather than risk their European holiday plans get cancelled or turned to chaos due to the extreme heat and flight changes.
