Super fan who has visited the same resort for more than 50 years!

Sue Collman first visited Whitecliff Bay holiday park on the Isle of Wight in 1967, when she was just 3 years old. She fell in love with the beautiful resort at a young age and her family would return to the same spot year after year as she grew up.

As Sue prepares to turn 60 this summer, she remains a true Whitecliff Bay super fan who has continued to enjoy holidays at the site for more than half a century.

Set in a stunning location overlooking a glorious golden beach, Whitecliff Bay is the perfect way to experience the world-famous shoreline of the Isle of Wight.

The park, which is run by UK staycation operator Away Resorts, includes exclusive accommodation with hot tubs, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, restaurant and bar, seasonal entertainment and events, and direct access to a private beach.

Some of Sue’s earliest memories of her visits include the old TV room in the famous Culver Club bar and restaurant, and feeding sugar cubes to horses by the duck pond.

“I love Whitecliff Bay because it holds so many family memories,” she says. “I visited with my parents, for big family get-togethers and with friends.”

Sue, who lives in Battersea, London, calculates that she has visited Whitecliff Bay more than 50 times down the years, sometimes going as often as three times per year. She travels via the ferry from Portsmouth and regularly stays in one of the resort’s luxury caravans with hot tub and outdoor decking.

When Sue’s son Tommy was born in 1998, she enjoyed returning to Whitecliff Bay and creating even more memories with her own young family. She recalls how her son won the ‘Bonny Baby’ competition at the Culver Club when he was 3 months old.

“Our son loved the swimming pools where his dad taught him to swim and going down the steep slope to the beach,” adds Sue.

As a surprise gift to mark her 60th birthday – and her amazing loyalty to the park – Away Resorts has arranged a free holiday for Sue and her family at Whitecliff Bay. The trip includes luxury accommodation and some extra goodies to help the family celebrate.

Simon Jones, CEO of Away Resorts, said: “One of the wonderful things about Away Resorts is our community of customers, many of whom return to enjoy our parks year after year. Sue is an incredible example of such loyalty, and it speaks volumes about Whitecliff Bay that she has continued to come back for more than 50 years. We are delighted to welcome Sue and her family with a free holiday to celebrate her 60th birthday and her status as a Whitecliff Bay super fan!”
