Health and Safety at Away Resorts

We want to ensure that our guests have the best experience, and a huge part of that for us is ensuring that everyone remains safe on park. Whilst staying with us, please be mindful of the following points;

If you contact the Emergency Services directly, please also inform Guest services, Security or the out of hours number. This will enable us to direct the emergency services to the correct location quickly.

First Aid

Should you require first aid please contact a member of staff or Guest Services/Security.  Any accident on the park should be reported to guest services, which will need further details.

Fire Safety

Fire action

On arrival at your accommodation please make yourself and the whole party aware of the emergency procedures displayed within the accommodation and note the nearest Fire exits and how to get to a place of safety. (Fire Point)

Smoke alarms are installed in all accommodations to provide early warning in the event of a fire. These alarms continuously monitor for smoke particles and will sound if a potential fire hazard is detected. If the alarm sounds:

  • Evacuate the area immediately – do not assume it is a false alarm.
  • Do not attempt to disable the alarm or investigate the cause yourself.
  • Contact Park staff without delay – our team will assess the situation and take the necessary steps to protect your safety.

In the event of a fire…

  • Evacuate your accommodation and alert neighbours
  • If possible, turn off gas and electric supplies
  • Raise alarm by contacting 999 and guest services/security
  • Give the full location of your accommodation e.g. Duck pool 12
  • Do not re-enter accommodation to retrieve belongings. Stay Out
  • Tackle a small fire with extinguishers or hoses, if safe

Our parks are in rural environments and in order to minimise the risk we have measures for you to remember.

  • Open fires and fire pits are not permitted at any park.
  • Dispose of matches and cigarettes carefully
  • Fireworks, Chinese lanterns or sparklers are not allowed and will be removed if found. You may be asked to leave.
  • Open flame candles and tea lights cannot be used within the accomodation.

On occasion at certain times of the year the park may be declared a high-risk fire area. BBQ’s will be banned, and other restrictions could be put in place. Guest Services will advise you of these restrictions and signs will be put in place.

  • Turn off the gas supply at the isolation valve – if it is safe to do so.
  • Open doors and windows to ventilate the area – this helps disperse any accumulated gas.
  • Leave the accommodation immediately – do not attempt to locate the source of the leak yourself.
  • Contact Guest Services or Park Security immediately – our trained staff will take necessary action to ensure safety and liaise with emergency services if required.
